Once you become a member, you can participate in a “Discussion Unit.”
(If you are not yet a member, read about joining and other benefits of membership here.)
Discussion Units are small group meetings which enable you to:
- deepen your knowledge through discussion of Civic Education programs and other current issues
- discuss local and state ballot measures
- guide League policy and action through consensus discussions of local and state LWV Studies and
- visit with new and old friends in small group monthly meetings.
Before March 2020, Discussion Units met monthly (except in December and during summer months) in various Portland locations. The meetings were usually in a member’s home or in a common room in a member’s residence.
Since March 2020 and until the pandemic is over, these small discussion groups are successfully meeting via Zoom.
We want to make the opportunity to participate in these important small group discussions available to as many members as possible. If you are thinking about participating in a Discussion Unit and would like to learn more about this activity, please contact Judy Froemke at email@example.com.
We offer a variety of options.
