Making Democracy Work

For more than 100 years, the League of Women Voters of Portland has organized to empower voters and defend democracy. The League is a nonpartisan political nonprofit. We encourage informed and active participation in government, work to increase understanding of public policy issues, and influence public policy through education and advocacy.

Voter Service

We are committed to encouraging all citizens to be informed and engaged voters and to protecting voting rights.

Action

Using our advocacy positions, developed through detailed study of local issues, we advocate in support or opposition to proposed ballot measures and city policies.
