Calling all youth: submit original poster designs to get out the vote this fall!

Submit your entry by email by Friday, October 9, 2026, for a chance to see your poster art displayed across the internet and across the state!

Design a poster with the power to motivate your neighbors to vote. Help others understand the value of raising their voices and using their right to vote. Share your poster design with the League and then post it in your community to start making a difference right away.

Contest open to young people of all genders in grades K-12.

Submit your poster art to the PROMOTE THE VOTE POSTER CONTEST!

Create VOTE Posters while learning about democracy! This poster contest is offered especially to Girl Scout troops earning their civics badges, but the contest is open to all students in grades K – 12.

CONTEST RULES

  • Submission Deadline is midnight 10/9
  • Paper 11” wide by 17” high, no identifying information
  • Email highest resolution PDF/JPEG Poster Images to votergirl@lwvor.org 
  • Email must include the parent contact name, email and phone number
  • Please include where you will display your poster – such as schools, libraries, or other places in your neighborhood.
  • Each poster PDF/JPEG image submitted must be labeled:
    • Individual Entry: ParentNAME,phonexxx-xxx-xxxx,SCOUTFIRSTNAMEONLY
    • Troop Group Posters Entry: TROOPnumber-GROUP
    • Troop Individual Poster Entry: TROOPnumber-SCOUTFIRSTNAMEONLY

Other ways to get involved:

Grades 6-12 Girl Scouts can Promote the Vote with authentic mock ballots for the 2026 General Election by asking their teachers to register NOW for LWVOR Mock Student Election. Voting begins October 19.

10/9-14   Judging, Three Winning Posters selected, and Winners Notified ! 

  • Posters reviewed for artistry, nonpartisanship and positive promote-the-vote messaging!
  • Head Judge: Andrea Pippins, the artist who  created  LWVUS Unite and Rise

10/14 Oregon Ballots Mailed – must be returned by 11/3 General Election Day

  • All posters displayed by their creators in their schools, libraries and community
  • Three winning posters professionally printed and displayed in collaborating libraries with LWV Voter Guides and VOTE411 materials, LWV offices and public settings
  • Voter Girl Patches given to all entries
  • BALLOT COUNT observing at your County Elections can be arranged near Election Day

GO-GO -GO      September 1 – November 7th STEM Day in Salem AND throughout the year

  • Troop leaders and Girl Scouts are encouraged to connect with LWVOR.org resources for Legislative and Local Community Action, VOTE411 , Youth Council, Girl Scout page and more!
  • See the winning posters and artists honored at this year’s STEM Day in Salem on November 7th!
  • Winning poster images will be used by LWVOR and GSOSW for social media, stickers and swag items, communications and future PROMOTE THE VOTE campaigns.
