School Superintendents to Discuss Equity in Public Education
Public Invited at 7:00 pm on March 9
The League of Women Voters of Portland will host a panel discussion on equity in public education in Portland on March 9th at 7pm. The event will be held in the Board Room of the Multnomah County Building, 501 SE Hawthorne Boulevard, Portland. The event is free, and the public is invited to attend.
The League of Women Voters of Portland will host a panel discussion on equity in public education in Portland on March 9th at 7pm. The event will be held in the Board Room of the Multnomah County Building, 501 SE Hawthorne Boulevard, Portland. The event is free, and the public is invited to attend.
Panelists include Carole Smith, Portland Public Schools (PPS) Superintendent; Barbara Rommel, David Douglas Superintendent; Karen Fischer Gray, Parkrose Superintendent; and Dan Ryan, CEO of the Portland Schools Foundation. Panelists will discuss equity among schools, particularly in areas of staffing, Foundation grants, and access to services such as art, PE and music, as well as TAG and special education programs. The Superintendents and Mr. Ryan will also discuss parent and community involvement and ways they can make a difference.
