Notes and reflections from Saturday, October 17.
Shopping
The Russians left about 10
:30 am with drivers Mary McWilliams and Ann Mulroney for a full day of shopping. Their first request was to stop at a bank so several could buy US $1 coins to take home. At the bank there was a deluge of rain, but with League umbrellas, the coin transactions were made.
Then it was off to Woodburn for the Outlet Stores. Several Russians that they had met during the week had suggested going there and we were happy to accommodate them.

Over four hours were spent at the Woodburn Outlet Stores and everyone was happy, yet tired after all their shopping for gifts for family and friends in Russia. Even the rain stopped and the sun came out.

Our final destination was to Washington Square to a MAC store to talk about I-Pods.
After 7pm and in the dark, Ann and I finally made it back to Pat Osborn's home for the farewell dinner for Portland League committee members and our Russian delegation. Everyone was happy and tired but still had energy for our last meal together and many toasts.
