Topic: Bud Clark Commons Tour & Presentation
Bud Clark Commons opened its doors in June 2011, and provides desperately needed services to the homeless in our city. Showers, clothing, laundry, information and referral, computer lab, mail and housing assistance are all available at the Day Center. A short-term residential program for men includes case management, mental health counseling, and a fitness room in addition to shelter. A number of nonprofits serving the homeless assist individuals in locating more permanent housing, employment, benefits, health care and other services. Transition Projects, Inc. runs the homeless programs at the Bud Clark Commons.
Transition Projects, Inc. staff will give us a presentation and take us on a tour. Please RSVP to info@lwvpdx.org by Tuesday, Feb. 21, if you would like to join us. I will send out logistical details when we get closer to the date. The array of services provided is comprehensive and the building is beautiful. All League members are welcome.
