The Extraordinary Biography of our December Speaker, Andrea Durbin

Andrea Durbin, Executive Director of the Oregon Environmental Council, was named in 2011 one of the Pacific Northwest’s Pivotal Leaders and one of Portland’s 40 most influential people by Portland Monthly magazine. The Portland Business Journal also recognized Andrea as one of Portland’s ‘Fabulous Under 40’ leaders in 2010. She sits on the Oregon Global Warming Commission and is a board member of the US Climate Action Network.

Before moving to Oregon, Andrea worked as an independent consultant based in Brussels, Belgium and Washington, D.C. focused on establishing environmental and social standards for the financial sector. In Washington, DC she worked as a senior manager for national environmental organizations focused on national and international policymaking. She has authored articles on the topics of globalization, finance and trade issues as they relate to the environment, testified before congress and served as an NGO Representative on the US delegation to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

Andrea received her degree from the University of Washington and has completed Harvard’s Executive Management Program.
